Why we picked it

This bed uses traditional Japanese joinery: the pieces slot together without screws or tools, which is both a nice story and a practical one (it takes minutes to set up and move). At 14" high with no headboard it is the closest thing to a true floor bed that still leaves 10.5" of space underneath. Buyers rate it 4.8 stars.

Good to know before you buy

  • Sizes: Twin XL, Full, Queen, King.
  • Dimensions (Queen): 14" H x 64.5" W x 84.5" L; 10.5" under the bed.
  • Material: solid rubberwood; slats included, no box spring needed.
  • Colors: light oak, light brown, walnut, charcoal.

What to consider: it is a low bed with no headboard, so pillows rest against the wall; a headboard cushion or a wall-mounted panel solves that.
